Should I be worried about excessive blinking or squinting from my child?

The vast majority of children will at some point or another appear to blink or squint excessively. The reason can often be something as simple as tiredness or even the central heating causing dry eyes. Anxiety can also cause this, so think about whether or not they have just started something new like Nursery or School.

Obviously, being so young they can sometimes struggle to let us know if they are experiencing difficulty with their vision, plus they would most likely be unaware as to what 'normal vision' should be. In a small number of cases, visual defects can be picked up so it's always best to have their vision checked. Early detection of any problems is always best, so feel free to book your free sight exam for your child today. They're never too young to be checked - we can carry out a check without any response required from the child!
