'My Sighted Guide' is a service offered by The Guide Dogs for the Blind Association. A sighted guide is a voluntary role which takes up a few hours per week. As a sighted guide you will undergo training and learn to safely guide someone with sight loss, navigating environments and building self-confidence.
During this time, social interaction is increased for those who may not otherwise wish to leave their home, so it can be a very rewarding role.

Rik's Story | My Sighted Guide
Sighted guides can help others improve their independence and allow them to get out and about more than they would without assistance. New friendships can easily be created from activities like this too. More details are offered on the Guide Dogs website where you can also complete a short form to apply for a My Sighted Guide.
