Your Barracloughs Team

We all need a change every now and then and Barracloughs is no exception. Due to recent restructuring of our teams, you may spot some new faces at your local practices.

We're always on the lookout for the next member of the Barracloughs team, and we're lucky that we often attract a lot of interest from potential new employees. Following a recent recruitment campaign some existing staff have relocated to different stores, so if you're wondering where some of those familiar faces are, read on...

Rita Palmer

Rita, who many of you may know from her 18 years of service at Barracloughs in Bexhill (seven years as manager), is now manager of your Silverhill store in St. Leonards! Rita is so excited to meet all the locals there and has already visited a few other local businesses to say hi. If you're in the area, drop in and say hello!

Much like Rita, John has been with Barracloughs for a whopping 18 years this year and for much of that time he managed your Polegate store. John will continue to be store manager, only now you will find him at your Seaford store. John knows Seaford well as he lived in the town for 10 years. He is excited to be running a larger store and meeting the friendly people of Seaford.

James Miller

James who is a qualified Dispensing Optician, joined us in October 2015 as store manager of your Seaford store. In that time he has begun developing his career by training to become an Optometrist, and so will be leaving us later this year to complete his training with the aim to return to his new role! Until then, James will now be store manager of your Bexhill store, giving him an opportunity to also learn more on what's involved with carrying out detailed sight examinations.

Charlene Whitmore

You'll probably recognise Charlene from your Eastbourne store, where she began as an Optical Dispenser back in 2011. Since joining Barracloughs, Charlene trained to become a Qualified Dispensing Optician, passing her exams two years ago. Charlene is now at your Polegate store so look out for her next time you visit!
